Operation, Safety, and Instruction Manual

Warning!

Not following all of the instructions and warnings in this manual may result in Injury or Death. Omega Diamond, Inc. and all related companies and personnel cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred by the installation, use, and/or maintenance of this product.

Before You Start

✅The most important things you need to know about your Blue Ripper SR:

  1. Do NOT run your saw on 120V; use only 220V power. Some motors may be able to start on 120V however they will pull too many Amps and trip your breaker. If your breaker doesn’t trip, the motor will overheat and burn.
  2. Do NOT grease the Lifting and Lowering Mechanism thread. Use dry lube spray only.
  3. Do NOT leave your saw unclean; water it down after each use, and dry it with an air hose.
  4. Do not cut slowly. The Blue Ripper SR 5hp+ is a high-RPM saw, and you need to cut fast enough to avoid glazing your blade.
  5. Have the blade properly oriented. Make sure the motor’s spin direction matches the blade’s cutting orientation.

How to Wire GFCI to Power

Power Cord Minimum Gage

Use 12 AWG 3 Wire Cord (Water Resistant) 300V Rating

  • maximum recommended length is 50 ft. long from GFCI to Machine
  • Do NOT use longer than 75 ft. as that will lower Voltage and increase Amperage.

How to Use

Getting Started

Note: For most cutting operations, it is recommended that you lay your slab on top of a foam sheet at least 1” (3cm) thick. 1.5” (4cm) is preferred for less crumbling.

  1. Lay the rail on the slab along the line to be cut.
  2. Allow the rails to be overhand enough for the blade to clear the stone and where you begin your cut. It is necessary to clamp the rails to the stove to prevent wandering. Clamp onto the provided angle bolted to one side of the rail.
  3. Put the saw on the end of the rail with the arrow on the guard pointed at the edge of the stone.
  4. Adjust the blade height to the desirable cutting depth.
  5. Turn the water valve on and adjust the desired flow - the more, the merrier.
  6. Turn the saw on before the blade touches the surface. Do not stand directly in front of or behind the blade while cutting.
  7. Slowly begin your cut by pulling or pushing the saw into the stone. If you enter the cut too hard, the saw could kick and cause the blade to wander.
  8. After entering the cut, maintain a fast speed for the best results. If you go too slow, the diamonds on the blade will glaze over, and the cutting speed will drop dramatically.
  9. You may need to apply pressure to the saw’s top to prevent it from “climbing” out of the cut.

Installing and Replacing the Blade

  1. Unscrew the guard knobs
  2. Unclick the water hose and remove the front guard
  3. Press in the spindle lock button behind the rear guard and use the BRSR Wrench to untighten the black Flange Nut
  4. Remove the Front Flange and be sure to reinstall in the same orientation
  5. You can now change your blade!

Maintenance

Make sure to clean the saw after every use. Water it down after each use to prevent stone dust from building up on your saw. Continued use without cleanup will result in excessive parts wear, and will make repair more difficult and expensive.

Operating and Safety Instructions

⚠️IMPORTANT: Read Before Operating Equipment

  1. To avoid accidents or injury, keep the work area clean, well-lit, and well Ventilated.
  2. Always wear eye, hand, and all other appropriate protective apparel when operating the saw.
  3. Keep all other people, children, and small animals away while operating the saw.
  4. Use only correctly grounded, GFCI-protected electrical outlets. GFCI must be tested every two months.
  5. Warning: Do NOT turn the machine on or off with the GFCI safety switch.
  6. Turn the machine power switch off before resetting the GFCI.
  7. Ensure that the electrical system in your work location meets all codes and regulations before operating the saw.
  8. Do not modify the plug on the saw or use any adapters between the saw and the electrical outlet.
  9. Do not allow water to run directly on the motor or any other electrical component.
If the power cord or any other part of the saw is damaged, discontinue the use immediately until damaged parts can be replaced.
  10. Keep the saw blade clear of clothing, jewelry, hair, cords, hoses, or any other
    objects while in operation.
  11. Ensure that the saw is switched off before plugging or unplugging it.
  12. Ensure the blade is clamped firmly between flanges and spinning freely
    before operating.
  13. Do not stand directly in front of or behind the saw while in operation.
  14. Keep hands on the saw and away from the blade while operating.
  15. Never force the saw if it seems to be stuck or if it seems to be moving
    with difficulty.
  16. Use only blades of the correct size and shape. Do not modify blades.
  17. Do not force bolts; most have been assembled with an adhesive, such as a Loctite® thread-locker adhesive for safety. (Loctite is a registered trademark of Henkel Corporation.)
  18. Do not grease the lifting/lowering mechanism. Use a dry lubricant such as PTFE (Teflon®) or a graphite-based spray when necessary.
